How to use Protect PDF

Step 1

Choose PDF within the size limit shown on this page.
Step 2
Run Protect PDF
Submit the form. AnyFilePDF creates a job id you can poll until the status is completed or failed.
Step 3
Download the result
Save the output from the secure, expiring URL before it expires.

Public tools are free. Ads may appear only in reserved slots that do not cover upload or download controls.

Temporary storage

Uploads are not stored in MySQL and are removed after the configured retention period.

Honest conversion status

Encryption uses pdf-lib when a password is provided in the form.

Uploads are stored in temporary storage, not in MySQL. Files expire after 60 minutes and are then deleted. Download links are time-limited.

About Protect PDF

Protect PDF is built for people who need to add a user password so casual readers cannot open the file. Each request becomes a queued job with validated uploads, temporary object storage, and a time-limited download URL. When a conversion provider is not configured yet, the page still ships full SEO content and the API returns an honest NOT_ENABLED result instead of a fake file. Encryption uses pdf-lib when a password is provided in the form.
