Compress a PDF for email and form uploads
Large PDFs fail email limits and slow down online forms. Compression reduces image and structure overhead while keeping the document readable. Start with Compress PDF when a file is mostly scanned pages or embedded photos. If the document is text-heavy and already small, compression gains may be modest—and that is normal.
Before you compress
Remove unused pages with Delete PDF Pages or Extract PDF Pages. Merge only what you need. Avoid repeatedly compressing the same file; quality drops each pass.
After compression
Open the result and check charts, signatures, and fine print. If text looks soft, keep a higher-quality original for print and use the smaller file for email.
AnyFilePDF processes compression as a temporary job and deletes stored files after the retention window described in our privacy policy.
